Georgia's residential contractors are now required to
be licensed by the state of Georgia in order to pull permits for any remodeling work on
your home
for work that that costs more than $2,500.
Pacific a Georgia licensed
Residential-Basic Contractor,
and to have obtained our license we have
gone through an application process, which
includes supplying business experience,
banking information, proof of appropriate
insurance and passing an examination
required for the particular license.
If you select contractor that does not have a license, you, the homeowner, and the unlicensed contactor have no enforceable contract (i.e. if the unlicensed contractor fails to perform or abandons the project, the homeowner
has no recourse and the contractor has no lien rights if the homeowner fails to comply with
payment terms). Also, in the event you hire an unlicensed
contractor and a building inspector
places a stop work order on the project, your
contractor is forbidden from completing the
project until he or she secures a license.
